Text to Text: In the book Janine tries desparately to get pregnant, taking fertility drugs and consulting her doctor but she can not. So her friend called her and asked her if she considered adoption and she delightfully agreed(after consulting Kurt of course). In the movie Juno, Junos stepmother wanted to get pregnant aswell but could not so she decided to adopt too.
Text to World:The abuse that Janine takes from Kurt reminds me of the the abuse that many woman in the world today take. A lot of woman feel as though they are either not pretty enough to get another man or that they are not a good enough person to be able to find another man. In this case Janine thinks that she deserves the abuse that kurt is giving her and that no man deserves her.
Text to Self:In the book Janine wishes to go on an "Outward Bound" so she can get over her fear of heights. Though she wanted to go alone Kurt did not try to help her go without him so she payed for an experience similar to the Out Bound she was hoping for it was a Rock Climbing lesson. In my life I have always been afraid of heights but over the years i have become less afraid and enjoy riding the occasional rollercoaster.
I am also have a fear of hieght that included jumping of a plane and sky diving jumping off of cliffs which is crazy to me that janine will do it... when janine told kurt that she wanted to go on that outward bound for her christmas present and she ended up getting a saphire diamonnd necklace Instead .I was angry about that he should of gave her what she ask for
