Dear diary, I cant believe what my mom just called and told me, Amie's body was found. My little sister was killed by a guy that she thought she could trust. Ron is such a bad person. I dont know when the funeral is but when I have to read my eulogy for Amie I know that Steve will help me. That's all for now hopefully when i am done mouring I will have time to wrote more.

text to self Janine tell Kurt what she want for Christmas is to go on a outward bound . But on chirstmas moring with her family she recieves a thong and a pair of earings and a pendant necklace of sapphires and diamond set in platuim and have not recieve the gift she wanted which made her angry. I was very upset about it I did'nt even read the book.

i awoke to strange silence.... As i waited in the lobby for real estate agent to arrive the door man who introduced himself as Jeff, got up from his station he talked to me like i was the only one. when Ann arrived i still didn't get my goal weight... Dear Dairy, 3/25/11

Well today i went out to lunch with my brother and i can't believe that he said i looked really skinny. I believe i look normal! Sadly, today i binged in the parking lot of the Mall, can't you believe it!!! Ugh i got a piece of gum to calm my stomach which was only 5 calories. But then i binged and i ended up in- taking 60 calories how the hell am i suppost to stay skinny when i keep eating junk food. OH no those calories are going to turn into fat CRAP!!!... So then later that night i made sure i lost those pounds. I ran about 6 time up and down my stairs. Then the last to times was becasue i forgot my precious outside and then the second time was becasue i left my shopping items in my car. Ugh this is really killing me all i want to be is freaking skinny for crist sake.

Text to Text: In the book Janine tries desparately to get pregnant, taking fertility drugs and consulting her doctor but she can not. So her friend called her and asked her if she considered adoption and she delightfully agreed(after consulting Kurt of course). In the movie Juno, Junos stepmother wanted to get pregnant aswell but could not so she decided to adopt too.

Text to World:The abuse that Janine takes from Kurt reminds me of the the abuse that many woman in the world today take. A lot of woman feel as though they are either not pretty enough to get another man or that they are not a good enough person to be able to find another man. In this case Janine thinks that she deserves the abuse that kurt is giving her and that no man deserves her.

Text to Self:In the book Janine wishes to go on an "Outward Bound" so she can get over her fear of heights. Though she wanted to go alone Kurt did not try to help her go without him so she payed for an experience similar to the Out Bound she was hoping for it was a Rock Climbing lesson. In my life I have always been afraid of heights but over the years i have become less afraid and enjoy riding the occasional rollercoaster.

Dear Diary,
I loved what the kids and Kurt made. In the garage hung a white bed sheet that had a huge red heart. And across the top it said We Love You Nene! The edges have multicolored hand prints around it. They also made me manicotti. Amy finally got a divorce. I was thinking that me and Kurt should go see a therapist otherwise I don't think we will make it. After we go to see the therapist, Kurt takes me to a resort. When we got back, Dave, Kurt's co-worker and friend, dies. Then a year later Jim dies. And now Amy is worried because she owes more than $15,000, plus back taxes. I had surgery to repair a ligament I tore. After 4th of July with the family, me and Kurt fly into Fort Lauderdale and rent a red convertible. Half an hour later we roll into the tiny town of Lauderdale by the Sea. We visit one of the dozens of shops that line the beachfront. He tells me to try on a black thong bikini. A year later I go to find a bathing suit. I decide to find a doctor to try to detach the muscles in my breast's. But he can't so he makes them bigger. Me and Kurt decide to have a baby, it doesn't work, so we end up adopting. I'm 40 now. The kids and Kurt take me to the Pasta Factory. They bring me a cake and sing Happy Birthday to me. That's it for now. Talk to you later. Ill write again.

this girls going threw a hard life, i think shes just trying to find out who she is.?? growing up people find themselfs and know what they like and what they dont like. her father is a jerk to her, and i can relate because i dont get along with my parents either. another connection is when i was younger i didnt like telling people my feelings like if i was mad or not so i use to wright in journal also. she gets beat by boyfriends and clearly doesnt know when to turn away and say enough is enough i know somebody that is like that also but shes a grown female.

My husband left me for my brother's wife. So now we live together so we both won't be lonely. Oh and I'm sooo not comfortable with my weight. I think I have these huge hips and this big stomach. I secretly starve myself so I can fit into smaller clothing. I got a lead roll on the show Ally McBeal as a lawyer, so I had to lose weight for that because I have to wear revealing clothing in one episode and I have to wear this tight skirt. I hired a nutritionist because I wanted someone to help me lose weight and keep it off instead of this dangerous dieting I'm doing at the moment. I hope I can stop binging and purging.

Journal Writer- Week 2

Dear diary,
Phew. So much has happened in these last few years. I cant even remember where I left off. Well the last guy I think i wrote about was Michael. Well that ended horribly. We went on a ski trip and like normal i pushed his buttons. Not sure why this time was any different, but he hit me. Not just once, not lightly. He broke my ribs & my nose. My eyes were black and blue from my brow to my cheek bone. I almost stayed. Tried to blame it on myself ; but I realized I couldnt stay. I ended things with him. Kurt came to my rescue. He was married and had a child on the way but I fell in love with him, he loved me too. When his son was six months old, Kurt left his wife and we were together. I went to Washington D.C on a journalism experience. When I came back me and Kurt moved in together. Shortly we were engaged. I couldnt be happier. We had a small wedding with his kids and one witness. But a few months later we renewed our vows with all our friends and family. I surprisingly made the decision to get breast implants. To make Kurt and me happier. I really love Kurt and im very happy. Life couldnt get better. Ill write again soon.

Back then when I was so happy to be with Kurt. Kurt was so sweet and kind and lovely he was just one of the residents at the hospital who I happen to cling on right after I had happen to just break it off with Michael. Me and Kurt started secretly going out. Even though he was married and had kids of his own. I feel like a home wrecker.I remember going to Washington and how hard it was to leave the kids and Kurt.I graduated with hoopla and moved in with Kurt.Who would of thought that later on we would be married. And I would be a step mother of his kids who I love dearly.Even though back then Kurt told me countless of times he never leave his wife.Which was a lie.I ended up getting breast implants for Kurt even though I loss the feeling on my left breast I also wear tighter clothes which Kurt says make me sexy. I get evil stares from women and lustful eyes from men which make me feel like a whore. Me and Kurt now get in countless arguments which he blames me for everything. I hate when he like this he also hits me a couple of times and screams at me but I love him and I know he loves me. We go to therapy but all she tells us is to do thing that pleases each other.

"She cries more, then sniffles." (pg. 132) iquote it means a lot because she doesnt want to leave her husband but she is also being contolled by him and taken advantage of, she wants to be happy again but doesnt understand how she is going to leave him, because she does love him and care for him.

Text to Self: In the book Janine was talking about how she went to the carnival in the spring and how there setting up the tilt-a-whirl and the Himalayas. I love going to the carnival because there are so much fun. It is a time for you and you friends or even family members to hang out and enjoy yourselves. She also talks about all the nasty carnival people by their rides looking at her. I remember when the people at their rides just look at you because they don't want to be there and there screaming inside to help them.



Text to World: During this section Amy has a hard time with her marriage. Many people in the world have a hard time with their marriages. Amy is not the only one. During Amy's marriage Jim her husband would drink. He would constantly loose his job. Which would leave Amy to pay all the bills that her and him should have to pay. That is how some marriages go in this world.

Text to Text: In this book there and a couple people going through a hard time. Janine for example she is going there a hard time because Kurt gets mad at the littlest things. Like coming through the front door when she came home from NYC because her garage door button didn't work. That was a little much. I can relate this book to The Last Lecture. Randy the main character was going through a hard time because he had a cancer that only gave him about 2 - 3 years to live.

dear journal,
im head over heals in love, and so is he. he even left his wife for me how amazing is that we are like a little family he has comforted me in my worst of days,and now he is in my best.we are stressed from work we fight sometimes, amy is still with jim ugh it frustrates me i knoe she can do so much better she is afraid. its okay i was too and still am, he is in and out of drinking and jobs amy copes by eating she gains weight. the time has come to go to washington.kurt is nervous i will cheat on him, i guess its okay our relationship started as one big lie anyway, i live off of barley anytbing so i dont have to get a job and live in bad conditions(the gay part of town). i make it through though i come back soon later we get married nothing big until the summer we have a wedding sort of deal again. amy comes alone. a little while into my our marriage we fight and talk about me getting implAnts, i fight over the ideal with myself it went against everything i believed in but kurt was right i was unhappy with them. i go through it i get my implants he is soo happy. its funny to see the way people and himself react to such a change in my apperance. oh well

I agree with this quote, mainly because a lot of the time it is you telling yourself you can't do something. If something seem's new to you you might get scared and have a fear of not being able to do whatever it is for reason as being judged and doing something wrong and such.

I disagree with this quote, because you don't always have to be doing something better then what you are. I think you should live to please yourself and not worry about what others think. You should be more concerned about how you feel then waht others are going to say.

Janine's sister, Amy, experiences that. Amy is going through a rough marriage because she has to do everything: work,clean,etc., while her lazy husband can't keep a job. He also he hits her sometimes. They keep breaking up and then getting back together. But finally she listens to her sister,Janine, and breaks up with him for good.

Text to World: A lot of people also have hard relationships with their dads for certain reasons,like Janine. He doesn't really like her dad because he is perverted and inappropriate. For example, when Janine was having her graduation party. Janine got a phone call from her dad saying that he was coming to her apartment for the party. She was wondering who told him about it. When he got there the first thing he did was hug Janine and wouldn't let her go,and also told her she had nice legs. He was being perverted once again.

Text to World: Sometimes people find their true love know matter how long it takes, whatever they have to do, or to act a certain way. But Janine didn't do any of that. She found the love of her life by being herself. Even though her husband Kurt left his wife for Janine, he took his kids with him. And now they are her step-children and she loves them very much. She didn't have to do anything manipulative to get what she wanted. They love each other very much.

Reason: I chose this quote because all teenagers have the dream to move out and be indepent from their parents, at the age of eighteen. Janine really did move out and showed how easy it can be to just move out but how hard it can be also.

2.) Page 69 " Every once in a while he hits her, out of frustration and failure."
Reason: I chose this quote because there is no reason that Jim, Amy's husband should have hit her. She was studying for college so that she could get a better education and he gets frustrated that she wasn't paying as much attention to him. I believe that if youre in a relationship and there is abuse you should have to put up with that.

Text To Self- The book If I Am Missing or Dead, relates to how in my life it was confusing and weird at first same as Janine Latus when she grew up. In the book this girl Janine that is 13 years old goes through life abused and raped, and in my life when i was a small baby i almost got hit and abused. So hopefully things get better for Janine Latus.


Text To World- I think this book relates to how out in the world women and teens are abused and just used for sex. Somewhat like in this book Janine Latus is almost in that situtation with people in her family and people she just meet take control over her. Women need to learn to take control of their own lives and try not to be abused.


Text To Text- This book reminds me of a movie called Last House onn The Left, where this family goes up to the mountains to camp in this cabin they own. Dear Journal,
When we went camping, when i was younger, Gary made me wanted. He unlike my family treated me right, with respect. Father still is rude calling me chubby, still telling us to lay off the chips. Him and mother got a divorse rescently. Thank God for that. He never treated her right. I have a new man in my life, Bill. He treats me ok i guess, pushed me around a few times, but i guess thats ok, the other men have done that so why not Bill too? Men only want women for one reason, Sex. I've known this sense i was younger. Men make me seem like all women are ment to do is cook, clean and pleasure them. I cant cook all that well, always burning food i make for Bill, he gets a little angry sometimes. And well as far as cleaning goes... ive always been messy, ever sense i use to share a room with my sisters. Speaking of sisters, Amie got married, im not a fan of her husband. He sits at home, drinking well Amie's out working. I miss when she use to come down stairs and sit on my bed with me and we'd talk about everything, boys, school. how unfar out parents were being. Hello, My name is Janine. My life has been one big rollercoaster. First of all my dad thinks my hips are too big, my chest is too flat, and everything i do id wrong. He also drags me on his lapand spanks me on my birthday and trys to kiss me on my lips. EW! My mother on the other hand works a full time job and still has time to come homeand pick up after us. When i was a babay i had a twin sister named jenette who unforetanutly died and unknkown death. As i got older my life just got worse. I was more pimply and at my occuared stage. When i turned 18 I moved out because I hated my parents, and, everything they were. I moved into Apartment after apartment. One day i came to my front door apartment after going out with my room mate Beth, there was a man behind me who pushed mw on the floor and then on the table who the raped me. when Beth got home she helped my into the bath and cleand me up. After awhile my sister Amy who is near her 20s got merried to her boyfriend Jim who is near his 30s. I didn't disapprove, but also approve the whole thing. My boyfriend michael and I went to his parents how for Thanksgiving and meet his family. I didn't think they where going to like me, but he thought they would and he was right. My name is Janine, I am a person with a lot of life experiances. A big family and a stuck father. I have older a younger siblings. My sister Amy was found out missing in the begining. I had a twin sister Jane, but she died. When i was 13 years old I had a babysitting job for the Johnston's who were our neighbor, one day i went to visit and the dad and mom were going out to a party. The father came home early and tried to rape me infront of his children. I go to tell my parents and my mom and dad were coming home from a party laying in bed when i told them. My mom looked at my dad and so did I, all my dad said was "Don't tell anyone or you'll be known as a slut". My dad and i don't get along so when i turn 18 I move out, leaving my little sister Amy. One night a friend and I go to a bar and i leave early, I go home and hear the door being opened behind me, I thought it was my friend but i turn around a it was a guy, who had rapped me and left cuts and such everywhere. My dad come's up to visit me and my boyfriend, Bill and we had a diner date, and my dad embarrised me so bad, he kissed a friend of mine i work with's arm and she pulled away. I was so embarrised. I got into another relationship with a guy named Micheal, we went up to meet his parents, and we didn't have a sucessful time because we did not get a long. My dad always give's me a weird feeling when he hugs me and touches me, its just not right. When i say goodbye he tries to kiss me on the lips. Text to Text: This book is similar to another book i read. The book is called Perfect. The two novels talk about girls who suffered from eating disorders. They both would eat so much and then puke it all up because they didn't want to "get fat". I believe that they both did it because they felt that the more they threw up the more beautiful they would feel but in reality it's not. Also, in the book ''Perfect'' the main character got addicted to her routine and so did Portia.

Text to World: Not only is Portia De' Rossi suffer from anorexcia but so did Nicole Richie. She stopped eating because she believed she was fat. Going from normal weight she ended up weighing about 89 pounds. Most celebraties are forced into losing weight because they have to look ''hot'' for cameras but what people don't know is that every human being has feelings and anorexia is proobley the easiest way out f0r them.

Text to World: Another celebraty that came out on the news for being anorexic was Mary- Kate Olsen. She ended up weighing about 80 pounds. On the news it reveled pictures or her boney legs and boney arms. i think some celebraties become anorexic becasue they want attention because if your skiny why become super super skinny when you'll end up looking like a walking skeleton. But that's just my opinion!!

Portia De Rossi - A model and actress who is very insecure with her body. She starves herself right before a modeling show so she can fit in her clothes. Then she eats tons afterward as a comfort. She was pretty much lesbian her whole life but she didn't really realize it until she got married to a man who she thought she loved.

Mel - Her ex husband who left her after he found out she was lesbian. He left her for her brother's wife.

Kali - Portia's neighbor. She was an artist with tattoos and a big vocabulary. She also took Portia to go shopping for her first acting job.

Her mom - She was very supportive of her daughter in whatever she did and she was obsessed with the whole modeling thing since Portia's cousin was a model. She would drive Portia to every modeling job & chaperon.

In the book the author conveys to the reader that her life at home is a lot more complicated than someone on the outside looking in would think. She talks about how she doesn't feel safe around her father, and how she has to fight to make her family proud of her. In a similar way I am trapped, trying to prove that I have purpose. The both of us struggle to keep ourselves as our families tear us down to nearly nothing, particularly her father and my grandfather.

Janine Latus describes how her little sister, Amy, feels abandoned when Janine moves out at the age of eighteen. Amy feels as if she has lost the one person in her family that she can trust and rely on. Janine and Amy had always had a strong relationship with one another. In a way I know how Amy feels. A few years ago I lost someone very dear to me to cancer. I felt, and still feel, as if I have lost a part of myself. My uncle was the one person I could count on while growing up to keep me safe, talk to me when I felt like I had no meaning, and be my father when my father was never really around.

All through her late teens, Janine screams at her family saying how unbearable it is to live with them and that she is going to leave as soon as she turns eighteen. I know how it is being under the pressure that you are a useless member of a family. The black sheep if it were. Janine Latus and I both face troubles with our parents and other family members. I have said countless times that I'm going to leave when I turn eighteen. However, like Janine, I too don't want to leave my younger sibling to be eaten alive by my family.
