Plastic Surgery

Over the years people have wanted to change their appearance, whether through make up or remodeling all together. This being know as plastic surgery. Plastic surgery comes with many emotional and physical side effects, some good and some bad. Plastic surgery has many side effects, such as physical problems like bleeding and blood clots. They are some of the largest dangers of plastic surgery. Scarring happens all the time after the surgery at the site of incision. Another risk of plastic surgery is necrosis; death of tissue due to insufficient supply. Necrosis runs a higher in tummy tucks. Nerve damage can also occur after plastic surgery, but it is a rare occurrence. In rare extreme cases tingling sensations can happen also weakness or paralysis and numbness (Pakhara). Numbness is sometimes common after plastic surgery, but it's usually temporary (Perles). Emotions can change after plastic surgery. Some emotional effects are depression, social isolation family problem, and self-destructive behaviors. Depending on the quality of the plastic surgery people might have an increase in confidence. With their new confidence the person might become more outgoing and their quality of life gets better. Some negatives can be found with the patients new confidence such as isolation from friends and family because they don't understand the persons confidence and don't recognize the attitude of the patient (Perles).
Body Displacement Disorder or BDD affects seven to twelve percent of people who have gone through plastic surgery. There are many celebrities and also regular average day people who have gone through and had plastic surgery done. So as it is concluded there are many positives and negatives that come along with having plastic surgery done (Perles).
